ABOUT US
Tashkent International Model United Nations (TIMUN) is one of the largest and most respected Model UN conferences in Central Asia. Held annually at Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT), TIMUN provides a space for young people to explore diplomacy, international relations, and the power of dialogue.
Since its founding in 2012, TIMUN has grown from a student initiative into a recognized platform supported by various UN agencies, national ministries, and development partners. What began as a small project has evolved into a regional hub for youth-led discussion and learning on global challenges.
Each year, TIMUN brings together hundreds of delegates — students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds — to simulate UN committees, negotiate resolutions, and engage in thoughtful, structured debate on key issues of global concern. The conference fosters:
• Youth leadership and global awareness
• Critical thinking, public speaking, and negotiation skills
• Cross-cultural dialogue and inclusion
TASHKENT
Participation in TIMUN is free of charge for both international and local delegates. The conference maintains a strong commitment to accessibility, with dedicated quotas for students from underrepresented regions, low-income backgrounds, and persons with disabilities.
TIMUN 2025 welcomes over 400 delegates and will simulate 8 UN committees, each focused on current international and regional issues. The conference will involve UN professionals, experts, and mentors who help guide the discussions and decision-making process.
This year’s theme —
“Together for the Future, Together with Youth”
#OurTimeOurFuture
— reflects TIMUN’s alignment with the vision of the UN Pact for the Future and the belief that youth must be at the heart of shaping what comes next.
TIMUN 2025 is a platform for dialogue — it’s a space to practice leadership, build confidence, and take part in something that reaches beyond borders.
